CyberKnife - The Cutting Edge in Cancer Care
CyberKnife
Contrary to its name, the CyberKnife does not employ the use of
scalpels; it is the world’s first and only robotic radiosurgery
system. Its state-of-the-art image-guided software and the maneuverability
of its three-metre-long robotic arm allow CyberKnife to deliver
hundreds of beams of high dose radiation directly to a tumour with
‘surgical precision’ from all angles. The tumour is
bombarded with radiation while the delicate healthy tissue surrounding
it is spared. This will revolutionize cancer care at The Ottawa
Hospital.

Hospital.
