Winners of 2006 Ottawa Hospital Lottery Announced

(OTTAWA, ONTARIO) – The Ottawa Hospital
Foundation today announced Claudine & Jean-Claude Villiard of
Ottawa, (ticket number 032566), as the lucky winners of the 2006
Ottawa Hospital Lottery. The Villiard’s have won a 1.2 million-dollar
luxury estate home package!
Here are the names of other lucky winners of this year’s
lottery:
- Ronald D. Lacroix of Vanier (008093) has won a 2006 Ford Five
Hundred valued at $50,985.
- Cathy Langtry of Manotick (008849) has won a 2006 Ford Mustang
Convertible valued at $46,149.
- Amber Holmes of Ottawa (021997) has won a 2006 Ford Freestyle
valued at $43,884.
- Durland & Gertrude Purdy of Ottawa (031545) have won a 2006
Ford Escape valued at $34,896.
- Rachel Plouffe of Gatineau (016555) has won a Whale-Watching
Adventure in the Sea of Cortez in Mexico valued at $22,000.
- Debbie Martin of Embrun (016936) has won an Aquatic Fitness
System valued at $74,000.
- Kate Goatcher of Greely (007889) has won a M-Y-HOME shopping
spree valued at $50,000.
Other prizes awarded in the Ottawa Hospital Lottery include five
Mediterranean cruises, ($50,000), a Grand Canyon family adventure
for four, ($16,000), $210,000 in jewelry, 100 Brookstreet Resort
getaways, and much more.
A complete list of lottery winners will be published in
the June 7 editions of The Ottawa Citizen and Le Droit.
The names of the winners will also be posted on The Ottawa Hospital
Lottery Web site at www.ottawahospitallottery.com.
“To everyone who bought a ticket this year, thank you so
much,” said Susan Doyle, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital
Foundation. “Your purchase will go a long way towards better
healthcare in your community.”
Proceeds from this year’s Lottery will help fund a number
of improvements at The Ottawa Hospital – the only acute care
hospital in our region - allowing it to upgrade outdated facilities
and purchase new equipment.
The key project supported by Lottery funds is the new Critical
Care Wing, currently under construction at the Hospital’s
General Campus. When complete, the Wing’s features will include:
- State-of-the-art operating rooms equipped with the latest surgical
equipment
- 32 Intensive Care Unit beds to offer more space and better treatment
for our sickest patients
- A new Chronic Pain Management Centre to support patients with
long-term, disabling pain
With its 1,130 beds, The Ottawa Hospital is one
of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada. It provides comprehensive,

French, to over 1.5 million residents of Eastern Ontario, and specialized
