Proceeds from this year’s Lottery will help fund a number of improvements at The Ottawa Hospital – the only acute care hospital in our region - allowing it to upgrade outdated facilities and purchase new equipment.

The key project supported by Lottery funds is the new Critical Care Wing, currently under construction at the Hospital’s General Campus. When complete, the Wing’s features will include:

  • State-of-the-art operating rooms equipped with the latest surgical equipment
  • 32 Intensive Care Unit beds to offer more space and better treatment for our sickest patients
  • A new Chronic Pain Management Centre to support patients with long-term, disabling pain

With its 1,130 beds, The Ottawa Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada. It provides comprehensive, high quality, patient-focused health care services, in English and French, to over 1.5 million residents of Eastern Ontario, and specialized and complex services for residents of Northeastern Ontario.
